Food handlers or food vendors medical is done solely at the Area Council. All Area Councils have laboratories with qualified laboratory technicians assigned to them

Application letter addressed to the Director (District Environmental Health Unit) specifying the item to be destroyed and quantity.
Suitability Health Certificates
Client should go to the District Health Department at Assin Bereku.
The Department is in the same compound as Bereku Health Centre.
Environmental Monitoring Control
- Noise nuisance

Complaints of noise nuisance should be made at the District Environmental Health Unit.
A letter indicating the area, the address, and the signature of the affected persons should be added as a supporting document.
Grave Space Acquisition
All burials in the Assin North District must pass through the Environmental Health Unit, after obtaining a burial permit from the Births and Deaths Unit. Whether at a public, private, or family cemetery.
To obtain a grave space you will need the medical cause of death from an approved health institution.
Cremation Of Corpse
One would need;
- Application letter addressed to the Director
- Cause of death
- Embalmment Certificate (specifying the chemical used)
- Proof of membership of cremation society (if a Ghanaian)
- Photocopy of passport (if a foreign national)
- Payment is made through the approved payment systems in accordance with the gazetted fee.
Note: this is done in a day
Exportation Of Human Ash, Human Body (Whole or Parts)
One would need;
- Application letter addressed to the Director (District Environmental Health Unit)
- Cause of death (communicable diseases will not be exported)
- Embalmment Certificate (specifying the chemical used)
- Proof of membership of cremation society (if a Ghanaian)
- Photocopy of passport
- Payment is made through the approved payment systems in accordance with the gazetted fee.

Exhumation
One would need;
- Application letter addressed to the Director (District Environmental Health Unit)
- Court order (From a Higher Court)
- Copy of burial permit
- Death certificate
- Cause of death
- Identification of the diseased person
- Identification of grave or burial place
- Payment is made through the approved payment systems in accordance with the gazetted fee.
Pauper Burial / Unclaimed Bodies
One would need;
- Police (Coroner’s certificate from court)
- Letter from the Police or verbal complaint to the Director
Note: All pauper cases should be reported to the police.
